KIDS & FAMILY CLAY OFFERINGS

Carbondale Clay Center (CCC) offers full and partial tuition scholarships to adults and children of our community and beyond. A limited number of scholarships are available per program, and are awarded on a first come, first served basis at CCC’s discretion.
Please fill out the pdf below and email a copy to programs@carbondaleclay.org with “Your Name_CCC Scholarship Application” in the subject line. If you are unable to email, please print and mail, or bring a physical copy to CCC at 135 Main St. Carbondale.
SUMMER CAMPS
Come have fun while learning how to create with clay!
Each camp session takes place over four days, 2.5 hours each day. Our morning session focuses on handbuilding and will take place outside under the tent. The afternoon session focuses on wheel throwing and will take place inside the studio.

FAMILY CLAY PLAY
Come take a hand-building class with your child at the CCC Studio! In these 2 hour long classes you and your child(ren) will work side by side creating with clay and decorating with underglazes. An instructor will give a demonstration at the beginning and help throughout the making process. Parents will make alongside their child(ren) and help them bring their creation to life!
*If you would like 2 adult participants (for example: both parents or both grandparents), please give us a call at 970-963-2529 to see if we can accommodate your group’s number of desired participants.

Please note, firings are not included. Firing requests can be made to the Studio Manager, Matt, at studio@carbondaleclay.org. Firing fees are based upon size and amount of work, and it is up to the Studio Manager’s discretion on whether the work can be fired.
U-PAINT-IT @ HOME
This U-Paint-It Kit allows you to underglaze paint pre-made bisqueware pieces in the comfort of your home.
The kits are $60 each and include 2 pre-made pieces of bisqueware of your choice, 11 colors of underglazes (about 1.5 oz of each), and firing fees. After you pick up your kit and paint your pieces with underglaze paints provided, bring them back to CCC so we can fire them with clear glaze. This process takes 10-14 days from the day the painted pieces are dropped off at CCC.
You may purchase extra pieces of bisqueware for $15 each. We recommend the painting kit for no more than 4-5 pieces of bisqueware, however this is dependent on how the colors are used and the size of the pieces. Need more paint? You can purchase additional underglaze paints for $2 per color.
ENROLLMENT POLICY
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. A student will only be registered for a class upon receipt of tuition payment in full. We cannot guarantee placement into a class until payment is received. Materials and firing fees are included in the tuition.
CANCELLATION POLICY
To cancel a registration and receive a refund, you must notify the CCC at least 7 days before the start date of your class. We will refund your payment minus a 10% cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 7 days before the start date of the class. In the event that the Clay Center is forced to cancel a class, a full refund will be issued.
