STUDIO CODE OF CONDUCT

Conduct is the cornerstone upon which we are building our culture here at CARBONDALE CLAY CENTER. All who enter our doors we consider an immediate participant, & CCC expects everyone to demonstrate a willingness to adhere to our fundamental guidelines

We exist cohesively as a vibrant community of people who have a high regard for each other, arts enrichment, and the value of the work we do. In correlation we believe that ethics – moral principles, standard practices, and even etiquette – are important elements we look to instill & impart in our Patron & Guest experience.

To provide a safe and enjoyable CARBONDALE CLAY CENTER experience for all guests & patrons CCC advises that appropriate behavior does not include physical or sexual harassment, discrimination, offending others, or provoking confrontations or disruptive conduct of any nature. 

Please follow this Expectation of Patron & Guest Conduct. If you do not, please keep in mind we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time. You may also be subject to prosecution for violation of applicable laws or ordinances.

Expectations of Conduct:

1. At all times be respectful and act professionally towards everyone you interact with on our premises.

2. When working independently, make sure to check the sign-up calendar and sign up with your personal link before using the studio space. Please clean up after yourself and be out of the studio by the end of your sign-up timeframe. If you are the last person, please make sure to turn off the lights and close and lock all doors.

3. Lend to a positive class or studio experience, being mindful to remain courteous, on time, and encouraging to those around you. If you are renting space for any reason please be mindful of all guests under your rental as they will be expected to adhere to these guidelines. Safety is a priority in our facility so please ensure that any children or minors are supervised.

4. Please silence your cell phone and go outside of the building to use your phone.

5. Please observe our residential surroundings, no loud music after 10:00pm. When CARBONDALE CLAY CENTER office is closed, please understand you assume responsibility for the studio and no office employee is scheduled to be available to the community. Unauthorized vehicles parked overnight may be towed at the owner’s expense.

6. Please treat all equipment and facilities with care & do not damage, alter, remove or modify any of our electrical systems at ANY TIME. Take care to leave the studio better than you found it by cleaning your space and tools thoroughly. Consider cleaning up after others as well.

7. We do not allow children and/or minors to be left unattended on the premises after school & operation hours. Additionally children must not be left unattended prior to or after their scheduled program

8. Please practice good hygiene – practice the “look good, smell good, feel good idea.” As you are sharing a common space, though you may have your own personal hygiene habits, we expect that you will conduct appropriate care to your body that does not become offensive or distracting from the experience of others in our facility. This includes illness - please stay home if you are contagious and consider wearing a mask if you have a cough.

9. No solicitation on our premises without CARBONDALE CLAY CENTER approval.

Our commitment to our patrons & guests is that we promote and support creating a uniquely comfortable, safe and relaxed environment. This philosophy is something we apply to individuals of all ages, disciplines, & enrichment endeavors to facilitate the development of their craft. CARBONDALE CLAY CENTER is a place to find passion, inspiration, & encouragement safely, so we expect all who enter our doors to lend to this expressed endeavor.
