CURRENT RESIDENTS

Current Residents highlights the work created by CCC’s 2022 resident artists -
Brian Chen, Gabby Gawreluk, and Trae Story.

First Friday Reception July 1st, 6-8pm

On display at the CCC Gallery and featured online from June 11th - July 9th

“The Residency Program at CCC is a remarkable opportunity to bring outside artists into our community, to support them in their growth and skill development, while simultaneously enriching the creative fabric of Carbondale.” says Executive Director, Angela Bruno.

This exhibition showcases the artists’ recent sculptures created during their 2021-2022 residency at the Clay Center.

Trae Story’s work featured in this exhibition stems from the process of uncovering his past and current identities expressed via abstract and narrative means.

Gabby Gawreluk's work is uniquely functional. She celebrates the freedom that handbuilding with clay offers to make forms such as litter scoops, pet feeders, burger patty presses, and dust pans.

Brian Chen’s work is the result of his time spent exploring soda firing and sculpture. His sculptures capture and marry anatomical curves and video game fantasy.

Current Residents will be on display at the CCC Gallery and featured in the CCC online shop from June 11th – July 9th, with an opening reception on First Friday, July 1st, 6 - 8 pm
