CARBONDALE CLAY CENTER + ASPEN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The Carbondale Clay Center honors one of its most vibrant members with the Angus Graham Memorial Fund. Angus Graham is remembered as a talented, passionate and widely adored member of the Carbondale Clay Center community. He was a highly involved member of the arts community in the Roaring Fork Valley, often teaching children’s classes at the center, assisting artist Alleghany Meadows and the Artstream Nomadic Gallery, taking classes at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, and being an active member at SAW (Studio for Arts + Works) in Carbondale. After his passing in August 2017, the Carbondale Clay Center (with support from his family and friends) created the Angus Graham Memorial Fund, which will serve to benefit future developing artists through scholarships, outreach programs, and supplies for educational activities.
The Carbondale Clay Center benefited from Angus's talent, his passion for the arts, and his generous nature. In honor of his love for the arts, we hope to give what we can back to the community through the Angus L. Graham Memorial Fund. All donations made in Angus's name will be invested in the Angus Graham Memorial Fund with the Aspen Community Foundation to support and inspire ceramic artists of all ages for generations to come.
The Angus L. Graham Memorial Fund will further the Carbondale Clay Center's mission to introduce, inspire, and support aspiring artists and hobbyists, and to enrich the lives of children and adults in the Roaring Fork Valley by making ceramic art programs available to all. All donations made in Angus's name will be invested in the Angus L. Graham Memorial Fund with the Aspen Community Foundation to support and inspire ceramic artists of all ages for generations to come. We believe that our partnership with the Aspen Community Foundation will help to continue Angus's legacy of love for ceramic arts for years to come. We hope to increase the amount for the Angus L. Graham Memorial Fund over time, the range of programs it will support, the number of community members who will benefit from it.
Funds raised through the Angus L. Graham Memorial Fund can be requested by community members. Requests can be made through our below and should stipulate the amount of funding requested, the reason for financial need, and the demographics of the organization or details about the individual. The community is also encouraged to nominate individuals, organizations, or entities they feel could benefit from the Angus Fund.
Requests will be considered by the Angus L. Graham Memorial Fund committee. Approval will be based upon the request fulfilling the purpose of the fund and decided by a majority vote of the committee.
