
CCC's year-round programming includes weekly classes for adults & children, weekend workshops, artist residency program, and community outreach.
Financial aid, scholarships, and work exchange are available to help students cover the costs of classes or workshops. Please see our financial aid information below to learn more.

All Carbondale Clay Center adult students have full access to the studio between classes. Wheel throwers can come in during hand-building classes and vice versa.

Adult classes meet once a week, with 24/7 studio access when other classes are not meeting.
Registration deadline: Friday prior to each six-week session.
Tuition: $250 eight-week session Firing fees included. Clay charged separately.

NANCY BARBOUR is currently the coordinator of the ceramics program for the CMC Aspen Campus. She received her MFA from the University of Florida. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Mendocino Art Center and the Carbondale Clay Center.

Alex Watson is a past resident at the Clay Center and now works at a studio at SAW. He has his BFA from Utah State-Logan.
Classes meet once a week. Imagine It and Build It students explore the essential elements of handbuilding with terra cotta clay. Once dry, artwork is decorated using colorful underglazes & fired to completion. KidsWheel introduces students to the basics of throwing pottery on the wheel. Design and decorate cups, bowls, plates, bright additions for your table top and cupboard! A small reminder: Students should be prepared to share wheels as enrollment varies. Tuition: $125/six-week session. Registration deadline: Friday prior to each session.
Winter Session II: Weeks of March 2nd- April 15th 2010
The Carbondale Clay Center offers a number of financial aid/scholarships as well as work exchange at the rate of $10 per hour outside of class time. Parents may exchange work for all or part of their child’s class tuition.
The Clay Center wants all children who would benefit from art programs to participate in Clay Center programs, and therefore welcomes contributions from the community to support scholarships and financial aid.
