   throwing with porcelain

The opportunity to dwell in the present moment is wonderfully available while working on the potters wheel.
Clearing our mind of expectations and results this class will celebrate the elemental aspects of body-material-experience. Throwing porcelain pots off the hump - with less 'how to' and more 'what if' - we will explore standard pottery form while practicing beginners mind.  Participants will be asked to tune in to the subtle relationships surrounding wheel, water, clay and touch.

Glazing with Intention
Have you had an experience where you made the best pot you’ve ever made, only to pull it from the glaze firing and suddenly be disappointed? In this four-week course students will learn how to conquer their fears in the glazing stages. This lecture and studio based class will cover glaze applications, glaze faults and remedies, and testing. Students will walk away with confidence when making glaze choices, and, finally, love the best pot they’ve ever made. Students should have a general clay background and be able to create works on their own to bring into the glazing stages. Bring a notebook and pencil, let’s get nerdy!

Instructor: Kaitlyn Getz
