The Carbondale Clay Center has been an important part of the Roaring Fork Valley and the field of ceramics since the Center's inception in 1997. Over the last 20 years, the Clay Center has played a pivotal role in our local art scene by offering a positive and supportive place to build community through artistic expression and arts education. Generous community support has allowed us to successfully sponsor ceramic classes, kids camps, gallery exhibitions, artist residencies, outreach programs, special events, and community parties.
Carbondale Clay Center welcomes all to explore the art of ceramics, from the casually curious to the established artist. Clay is a universal language connecting us to people, cultures and world history. Knowledge of ceramic processes is shared through class and workshop offerings, residencies, lectures, gallery exhibits, and programs that reach out to schools and special groups. The Center is committed to a learning environment that is supportive and exciting.
The Carbondale Clay Center exists to promote excellence in the ceramic arts and to build community through clay related activities. Our mission is to serve the community by offering strong, diversified, high quality ceramic arts educational programs and providing support for ceramic artists and potters through teaching, exhibiting and educational opportunities.
